It’s That Time of Year Again!
It’s that time of year again – New Year’s Resolution time.
Because of the mindset of many people in this country, it seems as though people “expect” to give up on their resolutions by about mid-February. That sentiment seems to get backed up by media and others who jokingly talk about “donating” to their favorite charity – the gym! “Yeah, I never show up to work out anymore – I just make my monthly donation, lol!”
Belonging to a gym and actually using the facility apparently are two different things these days, lol!
It doesn’t have to be this way. Instead, let’s do things differently this year and make it simpler.
If you want to exercise more, park your car a few blocks from your work place or park way out in the parking lot at a store.
Walk around your home or office while talking on the phone instead of sitting.
Rather than sitting at your desk to eat lunch, get up and walk somewhere to eat your lunch.
Do some floor calisthenics or stretches while watching TV or Netflix.
And, my favorite (any time of year) is to walk your dog(s) daily. If you don’t have a dog, ask to walk your neighbor’s dog. (Yes, I know it’s cold and there’s snow outside, at least here in Montana, but most dogs love to get out of the house even if for a short walk.) And it will do you both good!
Remember, simple actions, taken consistently, will get you closer to your goals.
